Music Development Plan
All schools are required to have a comprehensive Music Development Plan in place, as outlined in the national plan for music education.
This plan ensures that music education is accessible, inclusive, and of high quality, fostering creativity and enriching children's educational experiences.
As part of this requirement, schools must publish a summary of their Music Development Plan for the 2024-25 academic year.
This summary is updated annually before the start of each new academic year.
By doing so, schools demonstrate their commitment to music education and ensure their plans remain relevant and impactful.
Publishing a summary of the Music Development Plan serves several important purposes.
Firstly, it raises awareness of the plan among the school community, helping children, parents, and staff understand the school’s vision and goals for music education.
Secondly, it promotes the school’s music offer to current and prospective parents, showcasing the opportunities available to children and highlighting the school’s dedication to a well-rounded education.
Lastly, it provides an opportunity for greater collaboration between schools and music hubs, enabling partnerships that can enhance the quality and breadth of music education.
